Mariam Chikhladze is a governance and foreign policy expert with extensive experience advancing democratic development in Georgia and the wider region. For over a decade, she has led initiatives in strengthening parliamentary oversight, political party development, election integrity, countering foreign interference, and fostering civic engagement. She has held leadership roles with prominent international organizations, including USAID, UNDP, the International Republican Institute (IRI), the Alliance of Democracies Foundation, and the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD), among others. Mariam currently teaches Institutions and Development as a visiting lecturer at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA).

She brings an interdisciplinary academic background in international relations, public policy, and strategic communications. A Fulbright scholar, she holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy Analysis from the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. She also holds a graduate degree in International Relations and a postgraduate certificate in Strategic Communications from the Sympodium Institute.

She also completed the Edmund Muskie Professional Fellowship at the Hudson Institute in Washington, DC., at the Center for the Future of Liberal Society, under the mentorship of Professor Walter Russell Mead.
